I am a young opera director, recently graduated from with an MA in Opera Directing from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Having grown up with musician parents, I have always been drawn to opera's incredible potential for musical storytelling and its power to move an audience. My interest lies in the female experience and in the psychological profiles of each character, using the score as the lens through which to access truths in a given work.
I was born in Paris to German and American parents, and music was always a big part of my life growing up. I played violin for 10 years before working on opera. When I'm not working, I am an avid knitter and spend hours perfecting the best new york-style bagel.
